A Boy and A Tree
Even years after Ian passed away, people have made comments about how he liked to climb trees and sit there. I laugh because he did it so much at home that we have a bald spot in the tree where branches refuse to grow. In this picture, he is only 3.5 years old. I like to think he still sits there from time to time and the branches refuse to come back so that they won't fill up his spot. Many photos we have are of Ian in a tree and after his funeral friends drew pictures of him always in a tree and he was always the bigger of the kids on the drawings. That is how it is in life sometimes. When we lose someone, they leave behind a hole. In our hearts, our homes our lives. Ian is still sorely missed and each time I walk out my front door and see the bald spot in the tree, I think of him. I can still see him sitting there and I hope I will never loose that vision. It is one of the priceless ones. This is Ian (5) and his cousin Jake (6) in another tree. (Ian is the biggest of the two boys!)
