"SHRIMP de COOP" (My shrimp has gone nuts)!!
Ok, a little unusual for me but in the scheme of things, who cares, right?
A recipe for shrimp lovers.
I have a tendancy to throw things into a pan and cook it. NO recipes, can't stand those. If I can make something up, it's ususally edible if not really great. Don't get me wrong, there are somethings that just don't turn out. Those, I usually send with my husband to work, telling him that it is a gormet item I worked hard on! LOL
This recipe is for the person who wants shrimp done just a little different and I wouldn't be recommending it if it didn't turn out great! It is DELICIOUS!
I cleaned 10 pounds of shrimp (so about 8 lbs)
INGREDIENTS
?8 LBS SHRIMP
3 CUPS BUTTER (MARJORIN)
1.5 CUPS LEMON JUICE
2 T. GUYS SEASONING (Tony Cacheres works too)
1/2 CUPS FINELY CHOPPED PECANS (pronounced pa-kons)
1 T. FRESH CRUSHED GARLIC
ONION POWDER TO TASTE
melt the butter with the garlic, seasonings and pecans for a few minutes and then add fresh, cleaned shrimp. Cover dish with foil. Bake at 400 for about 25 minutes. Remove foil and change oven setting to broil. Broil for 5 minutes, remove and stir, then broil 5 more minutes and you're done. Serve over fresh greens or with rice or potatoes or just do it like we do here....Throw it into a bowl and chow down. If you like this one, let me know and I'll include a couple more of my home made recipes. Enjoy!
