TODAY'S VERSE

12Do not let sin control the way you live, do not give in to its lustful desires. 13Do not let any part of your body become a tool of wickedness, to be used for sinning. Instead, give yourselves completely to God since you have been given new life. And use your whole body as a tool to do what is right for the glory of God. 14Sin is no longer your master, for you are no longer subject to the law, which enslaves you to sin. Instead you are free by God's grace. Romans 6:12-14

Wow! God's grace! That is such an awesome thing to realize isn't it? By His grace we are free. Free to choose to follow Him, to serve Him and to live as He desires us to live. We cannot "earn" our way to heaven. God is in charge and He knows the desires of our hearts, and He knows the choices we will make before we make them. Wouldn't it be better then, to choose the right choices so that we do not have to pay for our mistakes over and over. God has already paid the ultimate price, His son's life for our sin. Incredible. Sacrifice. If we choose to make the right decisions, we are simply trying to live as He wants us to, and our right choices will draw us ever closer to Him. That is where I want to be. I, like any other, still make wrong choices but I ask God to forgive me and I forgive myself because I am human and will do as human nature suggests on occasion. I do believe, as a follower of Christ, that when Jesus died on the cross for all of our sins, that God forgave me immediately. Even though His son was hung on the cross and left there to suffer for our sins, God had the grace to forgive. We cannot fathom what that felt like because we are unable to achieve it. Thank God!
