TODAY'S VERSE
Philippians 4: 6-7
Application to my life; My dad is fixing to undergo some medical procedures and we are all concerned for him having to go through the pain of these procedures. He is a tough ole bird and I for one am sure he will be just fine. I am turning to the scriptures to keep me from worrying though. This one fits perfectly. God is merciful and provides for us especially when we need Him the most.
My Prayer;
Please pray for my earthly father as he steps up to the batters box and tries for a home run. Pray that God will heal him and that we will have him to share our lives with for many years to come.
Daddy, I love you very much!

Romans 12:19

Why Do We Chase Butterflies?
Men are always chasing butterflies; as an example; You send them to the grocery store to pick up an item and they purchase several things but forget the one thing you sent them for, or women go into a clothing store to purchase an item needed for an event and comes out with a new wardrobe. We are chasing butterflies. We will probably never catch them but they will always be around. Be still and they might give you a kiss. I love butterflies and they make me think of Ian each time I see one. This is a good thing!

This Is How It Should Be!
A Quote from Chicken Soup for the Unsinkable Soul
DON’T QUIT
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit,
It’s when things seem worst,
That you must not quit.
GOD’S AWESOME PROMISES
When you are feeling depressed;
My friends do not be surprised at the terrible trouble which now comes to test you. Do not think that something strange is happening to you. But be happy that you are sharing in Christ’s sufferings so that you will be happy and full of joy when Christ comes again in glory. 1 Peter 4:12-13

TODAYS VERSE
And to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
BE STILL!
I am here. I am listening, I am loving you, I am being patient, I am trying to give you peace. I have sent you sunshine as my smile, I have sent you birds that sing as my choir, I am sending you rain for you to feel the emotion I have for you and the tears I shed for you. I LOVE YOU!
God loves us so much and yet sometimes we are rushing through our days so quickly that we forget to sit and be still and listen to Him. We ignore the sunshine saying, "it's too hot, I don't want to be outside", we curse the rain saying, "it's keeping me from going out and doing what I want to do", we do not notice the birds singing and chanting for us and say, " Honey, cool off the car and then we'll run and get in it".
Take your time to notice the sunshine, the birds and the rain. God made them so they are spectacular in their own rights. If we take time to really BE STILL, and look around us at all the splendiforous things He created for us, He might be alittle more receptive to our whining about all the other mundane things we should just let go of.

I LOST MY BLOG!
WARNING!!!!!
TODAYS VERSE
JUST TO BE "HELD"
I really believe God was speaking to me through this song because I heard something I needed to hear in words.
God was telling me, "Colleen, you need to let go and let me carry you and your burdens. I want you to relax and let me deal with your pain, your sorrow, your grief along with your joys and good things. Give me the chance to do this that you have withheld from me for so long. I want to do it. It is what I do for my children." "I love you and I hurt when you hurt, I cry when you cry and I laugh when you laugh. I do not hear much laughter from you. Let me hold you now. Let me rap my arms around you and give you peace. I want to do this for you."
I am listening to the song and I realized that I was so concerned with my problems that I was ashamed to give them to God because there are so many out there with worse situations than me. I felt that I should be able to deal with my problems on my own and not trouble God. I realized that I was wallowing in self pity. Now, I'm not sure that I will just jump right back to being my old self because I am simply to exhausted to care right now. I do know that I will try harder to "LET GO AND LET GOD"! (I WILL TRY)
I am tired of doing it my way on my own. I want His help, His love, His arms. I want to be "HELD"!
Thank you, my Rosie friend!
YOU ARE ALWAYS SOMEHOW INVOLVED
A Mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife opening a package. "What food might this contain?" He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.
Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning. "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"
The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it."
The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house."
The pig sympathized but said, "I am so very sorry Mr. Mouse, But there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured that you are in my prayers."
The mouse turned to the cow. She said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you. But it's no skin off my nose."
So the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone.
That very night a sound was heard throughout the house like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.
The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness she did not see that it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.
The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital, and she returned home with a fever. Now everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.
But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit &n! bsp; >> with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.
The farmer's wife did not get well. She died. So many people came for her funeral the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.
So the next time you hear that someone is facing a problem and think that it doesn't concern you, remember that when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk!
In the book of Genesis, Cain said about Able his brother to our God: "Am I my brother's keeper?"
We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and be willing to make that extra effort to encourage one another.
A NEW SONG
This was the first one I wrote and lost. A very dear friend saved it for me. Praise God.
A New Song
A very special person came by today to help me around the house and with Kaylee and even brought a casserole for dinner. If that wasn't enough, she shared a cd with me and I wanted to tell you about it. It is the current Natalie Grant cd entitled, "Awaken". There is a song on there that she said was her favorite and I can see why. It is called, "Held". This is a beautiful song about how God wants to hold us when we are hurting as well as when we are happy. I think that after listening to this song, I felt as if God delivered her to my house today to share a special message. "Colleen, I am holding you and you know it, you need to let go and let me carry your burdens for a change. I want you to know that you are being "HELD" all of the time and I can't do that if you won't let go. Give me your pains, your sorrows and your grief and let me carry you for awhile. You have carried them alone way too long, it would be my pleasure and joy to just hold you for a time until you heal"
I am trying Lord to let go but I have been so independant for so long, that even though I consider myself to have a wonderful relationship with you, there are things that I feel are so mundane that you shouldn't have to worry about me when there are so many others who desperately need you worse than me. I know this is wrong but I can't seem get over the feeling of pettiness at how small my problems are in the big picture.
This song even refers to the loss of a child and how it will feel to be held during the mourning time. I can't say enough about how great this cd made me feel. Check it out.
Thanks Rose! I love you!
MY VERSE FOR TODAY
BABY BUSTERS!!!
Oh, we don't have one of those, I forgot.
My prayer:
God give me strength to perservere and continue the struggle knowing that it is all for Your glory. I will do my best to always show Your love, even when I'm grumbling.
Revelations 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Now, to some this may look like a verse that supports suicide, and although some get to the point where that becomes an option, it is definitely not a verse condoning suicide. It is a verse of hope, love and faith. God is telling us that the rewards in heaven will be great when we get there because we are His children and we have believed that His son died on a cross on a hill to save us from our sin. He is telling us to hang in there. It will get better. Even though I am ready to be there, that does not mean that I'm ready to go there. I have things left here our father wants me to accomplish. I know this.
If he could just slap me over the head and tell me WHAT that would be it would help.
I am prepared. I am not overly anxious to depart this world, but, I do, under the circumstances, see how some people would begin to lose hope and be filled with despair, and contemplate suicide. DONT EVEN GO THERE!
God does not want us making the decision to terminate our own lives. He created us and loves us each individually. He is heartbroken when we are, He crys when we cry, and He hurts when we hurt. Keep the faith, the hope and the love in your hearts and in your lives for others to see and God will bless you abundantly.
MY VERSE FOR TODAY
Today I have been reflecting on my children. I am not sure how we even imagined we would be capable of raising them ourselves but the fact of the matter is that they are a GIFT from God. He sent them to us with a purpose. He will guide us on their upbringing. We HAVE TO LISTEN!!
Verse: Colossions 3:20-21
(20) Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. (21) Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
(my interpretation) Teach your children to obey you without question, the way God wants us to obey Him. It will be the way God wants it to be and makes Him happy to know that we are obeying Him by teaching our children well.
Verse: Proverbs 22:6
Train up your child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
(my interpretation) If you start early teaching your child morals and biblical principles, he/she will have a better understanding of Christ. Along this line, they may stray from this path occassionally but will know the difference whether they would admit it or not. They can choose to step back onto the right path.
